I'm Sarah Bartnicka, a writer and editor based in Toronto, Canada.

I write Milk Bag, a newsletter that feels like catching up with a close friend about the most interesting business stories of the week. Before that, I spent three years helping turn The Peak into the country's most read, most loved daily business newsletter. The company sold to ZoomerMedia for $5 million in 2022. 

I've worked in communications for BMO Capital Markets, an investment bank, and in marketing and brand for Stikeman Elliott, a corporate law firm, and as a consultant at Edelman Smithfield supporting corporate and financial clients across the U.S. and Canada, including BlackRock, the BDC, Walmart, and TD Bank.

I've contributed to The Globe and Mail, The Hustle, BetaKit, and The Narwhal. You may have read my coverage about the rise in medical tourism, the decline of the holiday office party, and the problem of food waste in Ontario. For two years, I co-hosted Free Lunch, a podcast about business and the economy.  

I've helped launch newsletters for Radical Ventures, Willful, and Mercury Bank, and have supported content and communications efforts for company launches at Padder, Riven Mouthwash, and Calming Co. I also taught an editorial writing course at Miami Ad School in Toronto before they fumbled their finances.
